Online iGCSE and GCSE maths tutor for students overseas
1-2-1 lessons in iGCSE, GCSE and IB Maths with a UK qualified maths teacher, taught during the UK day for students in Europe and Asia.
Why the UK daytime suits students abroad
If you live in a country that is several hours ahead of the UK, the UK morning and afternoon are your child’s late afternoon and evening. That makes the UK day a natural time for after-school maths lessons: school is finished, and your child is not working late into the night.
For example:
- A student in Singapore, Hong Kong or Kuala Lumpur who finishes school at 4pm can have a lesson at 4.30pm. That is 8.30am in the UK in winter.
- A student in Dubai or Abu Dhabi can have a lesson at 5pm, which is 1pm in the UK in winter.
Lessons are one hour long and usually weekly. I teach on Zoom (my preferred platform) or Microsoft Teams. Your child will need a computer or tablet, a microphone or headphones, a quiet space, pen, paper and a calculator.
Time zones I work with
These are the regions most families ask about. The gap changes through the year because the UK moves between GMT in winter and BST in summer, while many of these countries do not change their clocks.
| Region | Time zone | Hours ahead of the UK in winter (GMT) | Hours ahead of the UK in summer (BST) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Most of Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Finland and others) | CET to EET | 1 to 2 | 1 to 2 |
| Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain | GMT+3 | 3 | 2 |
| United Arab Emirates, Oman | GMT+4 | 4 | 3 |
| Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Philippines | GMT+8 | 8 | 7 |
Not on the list? Tell me where you are when you enquire. If there is an overlap with the UK day, we can almost certainly find a time.
Which courses I teach

For students sitting Pearson Edexcel International exams, at Foundation or Higher tier.
IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (Standard Level)

GCSE Maths at British schools abroad
For students following the UK GCSE with AQA, Edexcel or OCR, including those in British schools overseas and UK families living abroad.
IGCSE and GCSE students are usually aged 14 to 16. I also teach younger students building secure foundations before iGCSE begins (see all levels).

Questions from overseas families
